Study English in Canada and gain international work experience with CES IEC RO support. This programme combines a minimum 12-week Intensive General English course with access to the International Experience Canada Recognized Organization pathway for eligible students. It is designed for students who want to improve their English, experience life in Canada, and take advantage of the opportunity to work while exploring the country.
CES Canada is delighted to offer the Study and Work in Canada programme through the International Experience Canada (IEC) Recognized Organization (RO) pathway in partnership with Languages Canada.
CES is part of the Languages Canada consortium of schools with special access to the IEC Study and Work experience programme.
An Intensive Study and Work programme package includes a minimum 12-week language course and, depending on your nationality, a Working Holiday Visa that allows eligible participants to work in Canada for one or two years. This is an excellent option for students planning a gap year, career break, or extended stay in Canada.
During your studies, eligible participants may work for up to 20 hours per week. After completing the minimum 12-week course, eligible participants may work up to 40 hours per week where visa conditions allow. Students can study for a minimum of 12 weeks and then continue working and travelling throughout Canada for the remainder of their permit.

The CES Study and Work in Canada programme combines English language study with the opportunity for eligible participants to gain work experience through the International Experience Canada (IEC) Recognized Organization pathway.
Students complete a minimum 12-week Intensive General English course before moving into the work stage of the programme, if eligible. Throughout the process, CES provides support with programme requirements and guidance related to the IEC RO pathway.

Intensive General English (IGE)
Our Intensive General English classes have a great nationality mix and focus on improving students' communicative ability. Class times are from 09.00 - 14.00 (Monday - Thursday) and 09:00 - 12:15 on Fridays.
CES teach at 7 different levels. This is a 18.75 tuition hours per week course.Students must have a minimum attendance level of 80% to be eligible to work and extend to receive CES support for potential visa extension.
ALL IEC / RO students starting a course will have at least 4 weeks of Job Readiness Training as part of their course.
Course Duration 12 weeks tuition + 40 weeks work.
CES Canada is part of the Languages Canada Consortium of Recognized Institutions able to participate in the International Experience Canada (RO) programme.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and meet the eligibility requirements for International Experience Canada.

Your English course forms the foundation of the programme.
The Intensive General English course focuses on developing practical communication skills through interactive lessons with students from many different nationalities.
Classes are held:
- Monday to Thursday: 09:00–14:00
- Friday: 09:00–12:15
CES teaches across seven language levels, making the programme suitable for students from Elementary (A1) upwards.
Students must maintain a minimum attendance of 80% to remain eligible for programme support, including potential assistance with visa extensions, where applicable.
Every IEC RO student also completes at least four weeks of Job Readiness Training as part of the programme, helping them prepare to find employment in Canada.
After completing your English studies, eligible students can continue gaining valuable Canadian work experience while enjoying everything the country has to offer.

Enjoy life in your new home city just like the locals do. Our Social and Cultural Programme is a great way to improve your English, get to know your classmates, and truly experience and understand your new culture. From museum visits to sports afternoons and everything in-between, you’ll be kept busy.
Eligible IEC RO participants can begin their Intensive General English course on available Monday start dates. Your CES advisor will confirm your course start date based on your IEC RO application and programme arrangements.
At CES Toronto, Intensive General English classes run from 09:00–14:00, Monday to Thursday, and from 09:00–12:15 on Fridays.
Your lessons are developed by your teachers and are designed specifically to meet your needs. Every week a new programme will be shared with you so that you will be aware of that week’s learning goals.
All classes at CES use a coursebook. These are available from reception and form an essential part of your lessons. Please note, each level uses a different book, so you will need to purchase subsequent textbooks as you progress.
You will sit a placement test on your first day at our school. This will assess your grammar, writing and speaking skills and is used by our academic teams to place you in the most appropriate class.
We offer a system of continuous assessment during your study and at the end of each week our academic team will discuss which students should move to a different level in order to maximise their language experience.
If you feel you are in the wrong level, speak to your class teacher or to the Director of Studies.
The CES Study and Work Programme - IEC RO combines a minimum 12-week Intensive General English course with guidance for eligible students applying through the International Experience Canada (IEC) Recognized Organization pathway.
