Course Overview

Run over either one or two weeks in locations in Dublin or the UK, our teacher training courses have a strong emphasis on cooperation and collaborative learning.  With a focus on peer-to-peer learning, course content provides opportunities for discussion and the sharing of ideas with colleagues from different European countries.

Before you arrive, you will be sent a pre-course needs analysis and some optional pre-course reading. Our courses aim to identify your practical teaching needs and apply our course content to meet your learning outcomes and requirements.

When can I start my course?

Course available in Edinburgh, London, Leeds & Worthing: from 01 - 26 July

What are the class times?

In Dublin, classes run from Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm, with a break between 11am and 11.20am. Cultural sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2pm and 4.30pm. Our Teacher Training Courses are 25 hours in total, as per the Erasmus+ requirement.

In the UK, classes run from Monday to Friday from 09:30 - 13:00 with afternoon programme of lectures and visits 

What is the minimum level I have to be to join a Teacher Training course?

We ask that all participants have a minimum level of B2 so that they can fully benefit from the course.

Is there a social programme I can join?

Apart from the cultural on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have an extensive social programme for the rest of the week, which is displayed weekly in all buildings. All Teacher Training Course participants are welcome and encouraged to join these events and activities.

What if I find the course too difficult, can I move to another class?

Yes. It is possible to move to a General English class suited to your level. Please remember that the minimum level requirement for all Teacher Training Courses at CES is B2

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Each participant will receive a certificate detailing the course hours and dates on the final day of their course.

How do I fill out my Learning Agreement?

It is the responsibility of the participant to fill out the Learning Agreement. Guidelines and templates can be found here: https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/resources-and-tools/mobility-and-learning-agreements Please note that the documentation required for the Mobility can vary from country to country. Please contact your sending institution/Erasmus+ coordinator regarding what documentation you require.
