Study and Work in Dublin, our budget-friendly course - ILEP approved!
A standard Study and Work programme package includes a 25-week course therefore students can have additional 8 weeks of holidays that they can use during or after the course.
During the studies, they can work for up to 20 hours per week. During the holiday period, they can work for up to 40 hours per week. (Please note full-time work must fall in months of June, July, August and September and from December 15 to January 15).

Afternoon SGEPM Courses (15 Lessons per Week) – Class Times:
- Dublin: 13:45 - 17:00
- Cork: 14:00 - 17:15
At CES, we offer English language courses at six different levels, including our 15-hour per week afternoon courses. These classes are an affordable option with a more economical price point, though they may have a less diverse nationality mix.
Study and Work Programme at CES:
The Study and Work programme is a popular visa option for non-EU students looking to improve their English while working part-time in Ireland. This visa allows students to stay for 8 months (35 weeks), with the possibility of renewing twice, offering a total of up to 2 years of immigration permission.
Course Details:
- Course Duration: 25 weeks of tuition + 8 weeks of holidays
- Eligibility: Minimum attendance of 85% is required to be eligible for work and to extend your visa.
- ILEP Approval: Both our AM.SGE and PM.SGE courses are ILEP-approved.

- Registration: €85
- IELTS Exam Fee: €220
- Medical Insurance + PEL (Learner Protection Insurance Payment): €130

Work Opportunities:
- During the Course: Work up to 20 hours per week.

- Beginner (A0) and Proficiency (C2) class are subject to availability / /don’t run year round.
Visa Information:
Non-EU students can obtain their visa upon arrival in Ireland or in their home country, depending on current legislation. Remember, to be eligible, students must enroll in at least a 25-week Standard General English course at CES.

You can begin your Standard, Intensive and IELTS Prep courses every Monday morning. If you are taking Cambridge, IELTS Express, Business English and Teacher Training courses, these will have specific start dates and times during the year which they run.
In Dublin, your classes run Monday to Friday, starting at 13:45 and ending at 17:00. Classes break lasts 10 minutes.
In Cork, your classes run Monday to Friday, starting at 14:00 and ending at 17:15. Classes break lasts 10 minutes.
Our school buildings open from 08:30 to 17:00 - Monday to Friday and are not open at the weekend.
Your lessons are developed by your teachers and are designed specifically to meet your needs. Every week a new programme will be shared with you so that you will be aware of that week’s learning goals.
All classes at CES use a coursebook. These are available from reception and form an essential part of your lessons. Please note, each level uses a different book, so you will need to purchase subsequent textbooks as you progress.
You will sit a placement test on your first day at our school. This will assess your grammar, writing and speaking skills and is used by our academic teams to place you in the most appropriate class.
We offer a system of continuous assessment during your study and at the end of each week our academic team will discuss which students should move to a different level in order to maximise their language experience.
If you feel you are in the wrong level, speak to your class teacher or to the Director of Studies.
Homestay
We carefully choose people and families to host hundreds of students every year. You’ll get to share meals with your host in their home while practising your English in a fun and relaxed setting.

If you need self-catering student accommodation, we can offer you many options, dependent on availability, in Dublin, London, Vancouver, Toronto, Leeds and Worthing.
